Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 June 2026
BePaid ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
If you have any questions, contact us at hello@bepaid.com.au.
1. What information we collect
When you join the BePaid waitlist, we collect:
- Your email address
- An approximate value of overdue invoices you are currently owed (optional)
- Your persona, for example whether you are a small business owner or an accountant or bookkeeper
- Your referral code and any referral activity tied to it
We also collect limited technical information automatically when you visit our site, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This is standard web-server and analytics data.
2. Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- Add you to the BePaid waitlist and notify you when early access or the full service launches
- Understand the size and shape of the problem our users face so we can prioritise features
- Administer the Founders' Leaderboard referral promotion and verify referral activity
- Show you relevant advertising on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram via the Meta Pixel (see section 6)
- Respond to enquiries you send us
We do not use your information for any purpose that would be incompatible with why you provided it.
3. How your information is stored
Your personal information is stored securely in Supabase, a managed database and authentication platform. Our Supabase project is hosted in the Sydney, Australia region. Data does not leave Australia except as described in section 5.
We apply industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, and access controls that restrict who can query the database.
4. We do not sell your data
We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Third parties we share data with
To operate the waitlist and this website, we share limited personal information with the following categories of service providers:
- Hosting and infrastructure: Supabase (database, Sydney) and Vercel (web hosting). These providers process data only on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments.
- Email delivery: a transactional email provider (for example Resend or similar) used to send waitlist confirmation and launch notification emails.
- Analytics: we may use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand aggregate traffic patterns. We do not enable user-level tracking without appropriate disclosure.
- Advertising platforms: Meta Platforms (Facebook, Instagram) via the Meta Pixel, as described in section 6.
We do not share personal information with any other third party unless required by law or with your explicit consent.
6. Cookies and the Meta Pixel
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. We use the Meta Pixel, a piece of code provided by Meta Platforms, to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to show our ads to people who are likely to find them relevant.
The Meta Pixel may:
- Record when you visit our site or take a specific action (for example, joining the waitlist)
- Match your browser or device to your Facebook or Instagram account so that Meta can show you relevant ads or help us measure conversions
Meta acts as a data processor for this data under its own Data Policy. You can manage your ad preferences through your Facebook settings or opt out of interest-based advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
We also use first-party cookies for basic site functionality (for example, remembering that you have already submitted the waitlist form). These cookies are strictly necessary and do not track you across other websites.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep your waitlist information for as long as necessary to:
- Operate the waitlist and notify you at launch
- Administer and verify referral activity for the Founders' Leaderboard
- Comply with any applicable legal obligation
If you ask us to remove you from the waitlist, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.
8. Your rights under the APPs
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct any personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, or misleading
- Complain about how we have handled your personal information
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@bepaid.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
9. Children
BePaid is a business-to-business service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the BePaid waitlist after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For material changes, we will notify waitlist members by email.
